On April 26, 2022, the CERGE-EI Foundation will celebrate and reflect on the 30 years of success of The Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education – Economics Institute (CERGE-EI). This collaboration between Charles University in Prague and the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences has enabled faculty, graduate students, young professionals, and other key stakeholders to showcase world-class standards in economic research and education in Central and Eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union. At this pivotal moment of change in our institution’s history, the 30th Anniversary Celebration will reflect on the successes achieved and present CERGE-EI’s vision to further increase its impact over the next 30 years.

The event will feature keynote addresses from Professor Francis Fukuyama and Professor Jeffrey Sachs, and a panel discussion, 30 Years On: What Has Gone Right and Wrong Since the Fall of the Berlin Wall? with Sir Angus Daeton, Professor Branko Milanovič, Professor Deidre McCloskey, and Professor Paul Krugman. Moderated by CERGE-EI co-founder Professor Jan Švejnar.

The program is followed by a reception.
