Join the Václav Havel Program for Human Rights and Diplomacy for an informative conversation on EU̶–Cuba relations. Pavel Telička, an experienced European representative will discuss the on-going negotiations for a new bilateral treaty between the EU and Cuba, including the most sensitive aspect of this diplomatic process: the issue of human rights and Cuban civil society.

Pavel Telička is a member of the European Parliament for the Czech Republic and Vice-Chair of the Group ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe). Telička graduated from the Law Faculty at Charles University in Prague in 1986 and his professional activities started in September 1986 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served the Czech Republic as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Negotiator for the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union and State Secretary for European Affairs. Telička has devoted almost his entire career to European integration and in 2003 was awarded by President Václav Havel a Medal for his contribution to the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union.
