We will honor Ambassador William and Wendy Luers with Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association Award for Unparalleled Service to the Czech and Slovak Communities. During their posting in Czechoslovakia (1983-86) they befriended the dissidents including and especially Vaclav Havel while fostering Czech American relations at a very difficult time. They have consistently demonstrated support for the Czech Republic and Slovakia in all spheres of their broad interests.

In light of current health concerns, we will notify you by September 10, whether New York will allow indoor gatherings. Circumstances permitting, we will hold a Cocktail Reception on the Rooftop of the Bohemian National Hall followed by the mix of live and online program. We also respect your concerns and hope you will join us online for the excitement and entertainment of these honors and honorees, if in-person gatherings are not advised. You will receive a Zoom link a week prior to the event.

For additional information please contact Pavla Niklova at + 1 (917) 847-4342 or info@havelcenter.org
